Galle Face Green Originally, made for cannon firing by the Dutch, this long strip of green grass along the beach provides respite and pleasant evening walks.

The Dutch Museum This 17th century mansion, once the residence of the Dutch governor, exhibits Dutch colonial artifacts including, furniture, ceramics, coins, and weaponry.

Gangaramaya Temple This temple complex, which is the oldest in Colombo, holds a staggering number of Buddha statues, art, and carvings, and the Simamalaka Shrine.

The National Museum The museum exhibits the most important artifacts from Sri Lanka’s history and includes a 4th century Buddha statue and the royal throne and crown.

Jami-Ul-Alfar Mosque Built in the 19th century, and known as the Red Mosque, this red and white striped building holds the largest congregation of prayer in Sri Lanka.

Sri Kailawasanathan Temple The intricate carvings, paintings, and architecture of this Hindu temple make it an impressive sight. It is the oldest Hindu temple in Colombo.
